Top 7 Questions To Ask Your Siding Contractor

Before hiring a contractor to replace exterior siding, homeowners should ask all the appropriate questions. From the initial measurements and bids to the procurement of materials, time spent on site, and any follow-up difficulties, you’ll be getting to know this expert well.

Your choice of siding contractor can literally make or break the project. When making a large investment in your house, consult several companies and then follow your intuition. Here are seven questions to ask potential residential and  commercial roofing contractors  to aid in your decision-making process.

  1. How long have you been in business?  Check for a permanent address, phone number, tax ID number, and, if needed, a business license. Avoid door-to-door salesmen. For your own protection, only accept offers from local roofers that you have contacted.
  2. Do You Have Liability and Workers’ Compensation Insurance?  This is an example of your due diligence. Assuring that they have all relevant licenses, insurance certificates, permits, and other papers will guarantee that the process goes as easily as possible.
  3. What is the warranty and workmanship coverage?  The top siding contractors will back up their work with a warranty or guarantee. Construction jobs are often unreliable in terms of quality. Any residential and  commercial roof repair   contractor can make mistakes, so you need one who will admit to them and fix the damage for free if certain requirements are met.
  4. Which materials do you recommend using on my house?  Verify that your contractor uses a reputed brand of roofing and siding. Most contractors attempt to give consumers service that matches their investment. Con artists target homeowners.
  5. Will you provide me with a written estimate?  Your contractor should describe the project in full. Start and end dates should be estimated. Be receptive to the lowest bid. It’s probably a scam. Not all contractors are created equal. Professionalism and quality should be considered.
  6. Do you use sub-contractors?  Some contractors will outsource your siding and  roof repair   project to boost efficiency and reduce expenses. As a result of this, they have no control over the quality of the work completed. It is better if the work is done by full-time staff. Having a group of strangers on your property while the job is being done is not a good idea.
  7. Can you provide references?  Ask for recommendations from prior clients to ensure a reliable contractor. If not, ask your siding contractor for five names and contacts. To gain an idea of the contractor’s reputation, pick a few at random.
