It is critical to ensure that the underlayment is completely dry before applying the shingles on top of it. Wet underlayment wrinkles and makes the roof appear wavy.

Most of the time, this problem will resolve itself with time and exposure to the sun. After a few days in the sun, the shingles will lay flat, and the wavy appearance will be gone. Even though it appears to be concerning right now, it will not last long and will soon pass. If the rippling persists after a few weeks, contact a reputable contractor to inspect your roof.

2. Roof Layover

You might be able to explain why your new roof appears wavy if it was installed on top of an old one. In most cases, this method of roof installation is not recommended since it might compromise the new materials of your roof in the long run.
